artfully SQUARED; 12th Annual Fundraiser for TAC kicks off

The Tioga Arts Council’s (TAC) 12th annual artfully SQUARED exhibition opens this week with a Supporters-Only 1st Dibs Event taking place on Thursday, Feb. 29, from 5-8 p.m. at TAC, located at 179 Front St. in Owego.

The main reception will be open to the public on Friday, March 1, from 5-8 p.m. After the public opening on March 1, artfully SQUARED will be on display in their Main Gallery from March 2-30, and will be open to the public Wednesday through Saturday, from noon to 4 p.m. The last day to make a purchase or pick-up artwork is Saturday, March 30, from noon to 4 p.m.

Artists and creative’s, of all mediums and all ages, have created and donated small square artworks to TAC. All artworks will be exhibited in TAC’s Main Gallery during the entire month of March and, as an experiment, each piece will be available for one of three values: a $20, $40, or $80 donation.

There were no fees to enter, and all proceeds will benefit the programs at TAC.

This year TAC wants to raise $2,750. You can buy one for yourself, a loved one, or donate a square to our partner, RiverView Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and their residents.

As a small way to say thank you to the creative donors, all artists 18 and older who donate a piece of artwork will be automatically entered into a raffle for $150.

All youth who donate a piece of work will be automatically entered into a raffle for an art supply basket.
