November is Kids’ Book Writing Month at Candor Free Library

Calling all kids who tell stories, draw comics, and write novels! This November, Candor Free Library is hosting KidBooWriMo. That’s short for Kids’ Book Writing Month.

KidBooWriMo is a writing “unworkshop” for young authors and illustrators in fourth grade through high school. Instead of meeting at the library, participants get a take-away unworkshop kit. Inside each KidBooWriMo kit is almost everything you need to write and illustrate a book: a packet of Story Seeds (just add imagination); a month’s worth of writing and illustrating prompts; templates for creating a graphic novel; and a pencil good for a few thousand words.

The KidBooWriMo packets are free, and will be available starting Oct. 26. You may reserve a writing packet by calling the library at (607) 659-7258, or pick one up at the circulation desk.

Candor Free Library is located at 2 Bank St., just behind the Village Hall. Check the library blog at candorlibrary.blogspot.com and the Facebook page for more events and happenings.

This program is made possible by a grant from the Bernard Carl and Shirley Rosen Library Fund of the Community Foundation of Tompkins County.
