Tioga Women Lead, a group whose mission is to educate, support and advance women leaders in Tioga County, announces “The Power of Friends at Work,” a leadership presentation that will be held on Friday, Sept. 28 at The Links at Hiawatha, located at 2350 Marshland Rd. in Owego, N.Y.
After learning how the key to loving one’s job is based on genuinely connecting with others, Debbie Morello wrote “The Power of Friends at Work”, a book exploring the value of work relationships.
In this one-hour lunch presentation, Debbie will discuss sensitive work issues such as trust, loyalty, boundaries, and conflict. Discover why you may be communicating the way you do today and learn how to make your interpersonal style work for you.
Debbie is the principal owner of Morello and Associates, a company that provides training and consulting on work relationships. She holds an MBA from Binghamton University and is has Vice President Emeritus status for Student and Economic Development from SUNY Broome.
This presentation is a result of feedback Tioga Women Lead received after their half-day conference in June, “It’s up to You.”
“We had a great turnout and a lot of positive feedback, but after two years of presentations aimed at empowering our women leaders, we realized that our attendees wanted to take it to the next level and learn ways to implement leadership skills in their everyday lives,” said Rebecca Maffei, Tioga Women Lead Council member.
“Debbie is a dynamic speaker and a local woman in leadership roles,” said Martha Sauerbrey, Tioga Women Lead Council member, adding, “She will share her experience and the lessons she has learned about building and maintaining relationships, as well as how to deal with conflict.”
Tioga Women Lead plans to continue to grow and be a resource for local women leaders. At this event, they will also present the “You Rock Award” that they give at each event to a local woman leader who accomplished an extraordinary achievement.
“The Power of Friends at Work” will begin at 11:30 a.m. with lunch and registration. The program will conclude around 1:30 p.m. The cost is $20.00 and includes lunch.
