DRI Team is looking for ideas

Officials representing the recent Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) award of $10 million will be at the open house for Nelson Development, taking place tonight, as well as at St. Patrick’s Fall Festival in Owego to gather ideas for the DRI. Stop by and see them between 6 to 8 p.m. Both locations are along Front Street in Owego.

According to LeAnn Tinney, director of Economic Development, BFJ Planning from Manhattan and Julie Sweet, from the Department of State, will be available to answer questions and gain input on how the funds should be spent.

“There will be cards to fill out as we are looking for your ideas,” said Tinney, “so be sure to look for our table.”

Tinney also added that they are still working to complete their list of representative’s who will be sitting on the DRI committee.

“We will have representatives across a wide range of businesses and services on the committee,” she added, stating that there are a few more seats to fill.
