Concerts in the Park, featuring local and regional musicians, kicked off this year on Wednesday, June 27. The summer concerts are made possible, in part, with funding from the Town of Owego, and are hosted by the Tioga Arts Council. The events, held at the Hickories Park band shell are free admission, but donations are appreciated.
Scheduled every Wednesday through Aug. 1, the remaining lineup includes the Kirby Band on July 4, the Tarps on July 11, Basin Street Jazz Band on July 18, Next to Kin on July 25, and concludes with Triple Play featuring Alice Detrick on Aug. 1. All performances, with the exception of July 4, will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. The July 4 event is slated to start one-half hour later at 7:30 p.m. and includes an evening fireworks show.
