Do you have a blueberry recipe that everyone raves about? You’re invited to enter it in the Bake-off at Berkshire’s Blueberry and Book Festival on July 21. There are five categories, all featuring blueberries, that include pies; muffins and coffee cakes; baked desserts, such as Brown Betty, Crumble Crunch and Buckle; gluten free, such as pie, muffins, coffee cakes and desserts; and jams and jellies. The Bake-off, sponsored by the First Congregational Church of Berkshire, will benefit the Helping Hands Food Pantry.

A representative of Cornell Cooperative Extension who is experienced in judging at local fairs will judge entries. Prizes and ribbons will be awarded in each category and best of show.

Applications are available at www.redbrickchurch.org or at the Berkshire Free Library, and are due by July 7. Entries that require refrigeration cannot be accepted.

The Bake-off entries should be brought to the Berkshire Fire Station between 8:15 and 9 a.m. on the day of the festival. Winners will be announced at 11:30 a.m.

Following the judging, the baked goods will be sold by the piece, all to benefit the food pantry.
