On Monday, June 11, 2018, Wayne E. Wood, age 37 of Waverly, N.Y., was sentenced to ten years in state prison and ten years post release supervision for his conviction for Attempted Rape in the First Degree, a class C violent felony, after pleading guilty in the middle of the second day of his jury trial.
According to the Tioga County District Attorneys Office, the charge was the result of his attempt to engage in sexual intercourse with another person by forcible compulsion on Broad Street in the Village of Waverly on May 3, 2017.
The case was investigated by Waverly Police Department.
