Tioga Downs Casino Resort, an entertainment destination that offers live harness racing, casino gambling and live entertainment, unveiled its new outdoor pool and cabana bar on June 22, which is located adjacent to the property’s hotel that opened in November of 2017. The two distinct outdoor amenities, which are geared toward the area’s warmer months, add another level of flair to the resort.
At the unveiling, planes, in formation, flew over the resort casino in recognition of Tioga Downs’ support as a Presenting Partner of the 2018 Greater Binghamton Air Show, which took place over the weekend.
Jeff Gural, chairman of American Racing and Entertainment LLC and
owner of Tioga Downs and Vernon Downs, attended the unveiling, and explained that the resort has now evolved into a premiere destination, adding, “I hope people see it as a nice place,” and further remarked that he is pleased about the positive feedback he has received.
Since its opening in 2006, Tioga Downs has expanded its gaming offerings, added a six story, 161-room hotel along with an events center and a spa, and has several on-site restaurants and indoor bars and lounges.
Last year, Tioga Downs signed a multi-year lease for the Tioga Golf Club, and in May of this year held a ribbon cutting for their new clubhouse, which features a state-of-the-art
pro shop, locker rooms, a dining area with bar and grill as well as a spacious banquet space for special occasions.
Gural noted, too, that not only is Tioga Downs a destination for tourists coming to the region who visit the nearby Finger Lakes Wine Trails, Corning Glass or Watkins Glen, among other stops, it is also a destination for individuals who live nearby.
