Youth Soccer Tournament is coming to Owego

The Owego area has been lacking a major soccer event for many years, and this month that dry spell has finally been broken.

Hiawatha Soccer Association and the Owego Apalachin Sports Boosters have collaborated for a fundraiser tournament on June 30.

The event being presented is a 3v3 style tournament, where each team only has three players on the field, and no goalie.

This format creates fast-paced energetic games filled with quick decisions and great teamwork. Both groups are very excited to host this event and are looking forward to some fun and competitive games.

The tournament will be hosted at the Owego Apalachin School District grounds located on Sheldon Guile Boulevard in Owego. Even if you aren’t playing, they encourage you to come join the experience and enjoy a fun day of soccer.

The proceeds of the tournament will be used for the future development of youth soccer at Owego Free Academy and with the Hiawatha travel soccer club.
