On Thursday, March 15, 2018, New York State Police at Endwell arrested Marc A. McKercher, age 46 of Union, N.Y. for the felony of Attempted Arson in the 1st degree.
On Monday, March 12, 2018 just before 1 p.m., troopers received a complaint of two suspicious devices on the front steps and on the front lawn of a residence on King Street in Endwell.
According to a state police report issued, further investigation revealed the items were improvised explosive devices, which did not detonate successfully.
The New York State Police Bomb Disposal Unit was called to the scene and rendered the items safe. They secured the items from the scene.
The New York State Police are continuing their investigation.
