On Sept. 20, 2017, members from the Community Narcotics Enforcement Team Southern Tier, Troop “C” Uniform Force and BCI, SIU – Binghamton, Tioga County Sheriff’s Office, and the Waverly Police Department executed search warrants at 125 Providence St., 132 Broad St., and 460 Broad St., Apt. 210, all in the Village of Waverly in Tioga County, N.Y. These warrants were issued by the Tioga County Court as a result of an ongoing multi-agency investigation called Operation Hailstorm.

Seized during the search warrants was approximately three and a half pounds of crystal methamphetamine, two ounces of cocaine, approximately $50,000 in U.S. currency, digital scales, packaging materials, metal knuckles, a metal knuckle knife and a 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup. In addition, an inactive methamphetamine lab was located at 125 Providence St.   

The State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (CCSERT) responded to the Providence Street address and removed the hazardous materials for disposal. 

Arrested was Robert Patton, age 32 of Waverly, N.Y., for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, a Class A-II Felony. Patton was arraigned in the Village of Waverly Court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail without bail.  

The Tioga County District Attorney’s Office assisted with the investigation.   The crystal methamphetamine seized has an estimated street value of $120,000.
