A longstanding community event in our area for four decades, the annual St. Patrick’s Fall Festival is scheduled on Friday, Sept. 15 and Saturday, Sept. 16 at Blessed Trinity and St. Patrick’s Parish located at 300 Main St. in Owego, N.Y.

Committee members have been working diligently on the planning process for nearly a year, and Co-Chairs of the event, JoAnne Murphy and Ellen Pasto, ensure that guests will be delighted with the multitude of activities, live music and entertainment, along with superb food and refreshments.

“There will definitely be a lot more at this year’s festival,” shared Murphy, adding, “It will be bigger and better, and there will be something for all ages.”

Admission is free, with varying costs for food, refreshments and activities. The festival is scheduled from 4 to 10 p.m. on Friday evening, and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday. Proceeds from the event will benefit the church.

Live music and entertainment kicks off Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. with Christian music by Rocco Fortunato, followed by Daphne Braden singing classics at 5 p.m. Irish Dancers will perform at 6:30 p.m., and the bluesy/rock band, String of Pearls, take the stage at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, a musician is slated to play bagpipes at 11:30 a.m., followed by Christian music at noon by Trace of Grace. Fairbanks Karate will be on hand to demonstrate their art at 12:45 p.m., and then at 2 p.m. Rick Pedro will play piano favorites.

Greg Neff takes the stage at 4 p.m. and will perform music from the 60’s and 70’s, followed by Christian music by Rocco Fortunato at 6 p.m. Concluding the evening will be Pasty White and Doublewide performing light rock and rockabilly at 7 p.m.

A presale for Saturday’s chicken barbeque is planned, with a limited number of additional tickets for purchase at the event.

Children’s concessions include cotton candy, popcorn, nachos and cheese, pizza and candy.

At the Dessert Café, guests will be able to choose from homemade cakes, pies, cookies and other sweet-tooth-fixes, accompanied by coffee or tea.

Classy Glass by Anita will offer adult wine and paint sessions, as well as children’s ornament painting. The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for kids.
