Tioga Downs, Red Cross donate nearly $6,000 to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

Tioga Downs recently announced that the casino, alongside the American Red Cross, raised nearly $6,000 to benefit the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Last Sunday night, Tioga Downs hosted a concert featuring Frankie Avalon, Bobby Rydell and Fabian. Ahead of the concert, Tioga Downs invited the American Red Cross to set up a table in the rotunda, collecting donations for Hurricane Harvey victims.

The organization was able to collect $2,950 from patrons and Jeff Gural, owner of Tioga Downs, matched that number, bringing the final donation to approximately $5,900.

“The people of the Southern Tier know firsthand the devastating impact flooding can have on a community,” Gural said. “It’s my hope that those affected by Hurricane Harvey know they are present in our minds, and that this donation will help them heal and rebuild.”
