Preparedness Fair taking place on Saturday

On Saturday, Sept. 16, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 430 Montrose Turnpike in Owego will host a preparedness and self- reliant fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.  

Come learn new skills, brush up on old ones or just come for the fun of it. This will be a day of fun classes to choose from, demonstrations to watch and lots of community sponsored booths with valuable information available. There will be drawings for prizes throughout the day.

Classes include soap making, backyard chickens, how to raise pigs, cake decorating, cheese making, bread making (take home a loaf), estate planning, preserving food, gardening and more.

Booth vendors include NOAA, Ham radio, the Red Cross, the Tioga County Health Department, an Owego fire truck (touch a truck), child fingerprinting, a mobile mammogram van, Cornell Cooperative Extension, a 72 hour kit display, Tioga Opportunities, a kids make and take table, and much more.
