The skies cleared last Wednesday, allowing Bike Night in Owego to present a Black Sabbath Tribute Band to guests as well as a tour of the Tioga County Historical Society and Museum for a viewing of the Monarch Motorcycle.
This week, String of Pearls will return to Owego for a Bike Night performance.
String of Pearls is an energetic four-piece blues/rock band, whose members hail from Greene and Oxford, N.Y.
The band formed in 2002, and current members include Pearl “Singing SkyWolf” Reed-Klein (vocals, piano, guitar, harmonica), Eric Porter (guitar and vocals), Nick Andrews (percussion’s and vocals) and Jimmy Kolet (bass and vocals).
Pearl has performed for years in New York and Pennsylvania and has opened shows for Roosevelt Dean, Leon Russell, Devon Allman and many others. The band performs many venues ranging from bike nights to clubs, blues festivals to weddings, and everything in between.
Since the late 70s, Eric Porter has played guitar and has recorded music for radio and television (HBO and Comedy Central). Jim has played the bass in Central New York bands such as Spider Murphy. He has opened shows for Foghat, The Outlaws and others.
String of Pearls has performed at the Bike Night venue each year, and is looking forward to this year’s date of Aug. 2, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The evening is being sponsored by Armstrong Music House.
