Cecilia Menhennett, a Democrat from Endicott, announces her candidacy for Town of Owego Supervisor.

Menhennett is a 28-year resident of Crestview Heights and has extensive experience working in the public sector. She has over 20 years of public service as an employee of Tioga County, having worked as a Child Protective Caseworker and Probation Officer, and as a Labor Services Representative with New York State Department of Labor.

Manhennett is also a former board member and past president of Tioga County Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (TCCASA).

A graduate of Binghamton University’s Harpur College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Society, Menhennett explains that she entered the race for Supervisor to revive the democratic process in the Town of Owego.

Menhennett stated, “I am entering the race because for too long a significant number of registered voters have been sidelined while primary elections decide who will govern the Town of Owego. My vision for the Town of Owego includes budgets that are fair to all residents, improved services, and the expansion of recreational opportunities. The practice by the Town of Owego government of taxing the residents then hoarding their tax dollars needs to end. I believe that the Town of Owego government can work to improve the quality of life for all its residents and make it a place where people will thrive.”
