Mary Carter Kennedy recently announced that she would be running for the position of Owego Town Clerk in the fall of 2017. She was appointed by the Town Board on Jan. 1, 2017 to replace Michael Zimmer after he retired with one year remaining in his term.
She has hit the ground running by working to give Owego residents more convenient payment options by installing a drop box at the Town Hall. She is also pursuing credit / debit / on-line payment options.
Kennedy lives in Owego with her husband Brian and her son, Daniel. Kennedy stated, “I’ve worked in the Town Clerk’s Office since 2013. I truly enjoy helping our residents. It is my hope to continue the high level of customer service taught to me while working for Michael Zimmer.”
Kennedy is asking for the community’s support on Primary Election Day (Sept. 12, 2017) as well as General Election Day (Nov. 7, 2017).
