Jordan Dove, a senior at Owego Free Academy, performed in the 2017 NAFME All-Eastern Honors Band Ensemble Concert on Saturday, April 8, at the Historic Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J. Jordan was on of 800 students in the Eastern region of the United States that was selected to perform in one of five honor ensembles. 

The selection process occurs during the Spring and early Fall of the year before the event where ranked lists are created of recommended juniors and seniors based on YSSMA Solo performances, teacher recommendation, and performance in their own All-State festivals. 

Jordan played the trombone in the All-State Symphony Orchestra held in Rochester, N.Y. in December 2016 and in the All-National Honor Band held in Grapevine, Texas in November 2017. 

Jordan plays the trombone locally in the Binghamton Youth Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Barry Peters and The Broome County Teen Jazz Project under the direction of Tony Alduino and Dan Miller as well as in his high school band and jazz band under the direction of Dan Fabricius. 

Jordan has studied privately with Chris Mann, bass trombonist with the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra for the past six years and in school starting in 4th grade with Lindsey Williams, in 6th grade with Andy Kearney, and in 9th grade with Dan Fabricius. 

Next year, Jordan heads to SUNY Fredonia to study trombone with Jonathan Lombardo, principal Trombonist with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Barry Kilpatrick, the assistant director of music. Jordan will double major in trombone performance and music education. 

Jordan will also study organ with JiHyun Woo and hopes to serve as a substitute organist as his schedule allows.
