Tioga Downs a World Series of Poker location

Tioga Downs is now an official World Series of Poker location, making the casino eligible to host the promotion’s high-profile events in the future.

Starting in April, the poker room will host a variety of tournaments, from those with minimal buy-ins to major regional and larger competitions.

“We are excited to welcome Tioga Downs Casino as a World Series of Poker official location, and we look forward to working with them to bring the excitement of WSOP to players at Tioga Downs,” said Ty Stewart, executive director of the World Series of Poker.

The branded poker room was renovated from the space that once housed the Winner’s Circle Lounge. It features 12 tables that can accommodate up to 10 players each, and offers a variety of games including Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Stud Hi-Lo and Draw Poker. The room is run with the help of Bravo Poker management software, and players can utilize Bravo’s web and app interfaces to sign up for tournaments ahead of time.

“We offer the games that the poker world wants to play. With a player-focused approach, we will ensure we are clear front-runners in listening to the demands of the poker community in both live play and tournaments,” said Tioga Downs Manager Charlie Otto.

Tioga Downs, which was recently awarded a commercial casino gaming license by the New York State Gaming Commission, officially opened its casino expansion last month. Efforts to further expand the casino into a “world-class resort” are currently underway.
