Effective at 3 p.m. today, Sheriff Kenneth Lansing ordered roads closed in Tompkins County except for essential travel. Travel is restricted to emergency personnel and others performing actions to protect lives, prevent incident or protect property.
Roads are limited to travel by citizens that are coming to and from work or during necessary health/safety travel.
Sheriff Lansing noted that these closures are in effect until further notice, and that everyone is urged to seek out information from local media before any travel tomorrow.
