Floor hockey tournament to benefit Tioga United Way

The Owego Apalachin High School Student Council is hosting this year’s floor hockey tournament against Newark Valley on March 9, at 6:30 p.m. at Owego Free Academy.

There will be two contests with students playing two 20-minute halves. After the students play, the staff of both school districts will compete.

Refreshments will be available and admission is $1, with the proceeds going to the Tioga United Way’s 30 partner agencies addressing issues such as food insecurity, domestic violence, illiteracy, dispute and resolution, environmental education, elderly isolation, and more.

Tioga United Way would like to extend a special thanks to the Owego Free Academy Student Council President, Daniel Raftis, for coordinating this fundraiser along with Newark Valley high school students and Tioga United Way Board Member, Melinda Byrne.
