Multiple agencies respond to fire in Owego on Tuesday

Responders work to contain a structure fire on Tuesday at 352 Weiss Rd. in Owego, N.Y. No one was injured as a result of the fire, and the investigation into its cause is underway.

With temperatures beginning to dip on Tuesday afternoon, multiple fire departments were busy responding to a structure fire at 352 Weiss Rd. in Owego, N.Y.

Responders were called to the scene at around 1:30 p.m. when flames were reported inside of a garage located on the property, which had an office and apartment above it.

Upon arrival, flames could be seen coming from the roof of the structure as responders worked to contain the fire.

The family was home at the time, and was in the residence located next to the burning structure. There were no injuries reported.

Responding were departments from Candor, Apalachin, Campville, Tioga Center and Owego. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
