‘Paddling to Remember’

Paddling to RememberPictured, are Bob Bassett, Dave Dewey-Wright, Kandi Weidow, and Dave Gregg at the end of the November kayak journey.

Dear Editor,

I would like to thank all the local supporters for my recent “Paddling To Remember” kayak journey on the Susquehanna River. Despite low water, in nine days I paddled the 120 plus miles from Cooperstown to Owego, and together we raised $908 for the Alzheimer’s Association, more than twice the original goal.

I will complete the river paddling journey next May when the water is higher and I am a little wiser.

Special thanks is extended to the following supporters and contributors: Leigh Eckmair, Martin Tillapaugh, Sally and Tom McEnteer, Patti and Doc Halliday, Colleen and Dave Dewey-Wright, Sabra and Greg Cello, Eudora and Bill Shuler, Robert and Joyce Merwin, April and George Swaney, Matt and Barbara Intrieri, Barbara and Emil Kotesak, Jan Whitaker, Susan Bassett Doolittle, Sandy Bassett Murphy, the Sherwood Family, the Maslin Family, the Woodburn Family, Phyllis Smith and Ken Sallale, David P. Beere, Marcia Smith, Jean Caporal, Candi Cerretani, Dave Gregg, Candy Weidow, Rod Marchewka and family, John Crosby, Jennifer Kurkoski and the teachers at the Apalachin Elementary School, Susquehanna Printers, Cooperstown Alzheimer’s Association, Charles H. Bassett Youth Foundation Inc., Friends of the CHB Youth Foundation, Friends of Bassett Healthcare Network, Katie Sullivan and the Binghamton Press and Sun Bulletin, the Owego Pennysaver and the Tioga County Courier.

Sincerely,

Robert Clarke ‘Beau’ Bassett
