The 10th Mountain Division (LI) Band was originally established in the United States Army as the 505 Coast Artillery Band on April 13, 1942. It was redesignated as the 10th Infantry Division Band on June 25, 1948. Another redesignation took place on Nov. 3, 1987, at which time the band received its current name as the 10th Mountain Division (LI) Band and was relocated to Fort Drum, New York, where it continues to serve today. Since 2001 the 10th Mountain Division has been the most deployed unit in the entire U.S. military.
The Historical Society is extremely proud to host the 10th Mountain Division U.S. Army Band from Fort Drum at the Ray Shaver Lehigh Valley Depot on Saturday, June 27 with entertainment beginning at noon. Bring a lawn chair and help celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with an unforgettable afternoon of music, history, and patriotism.
