The Athens Senior Citizens celebrated Fathers Day with a luncheon on June 12, at the Airport Senior Community Hall. The event included picnic foods and music by Jacob Galpin on guitar.
There were 23 members present and five guests. Bob and May Margaret Dydyski and Arewood and Joyce Parish joined the group that day.
Ted said grace and the group recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

There was a short meeting where the secretary and treasurer reports were read and approved.
Drawing winners were Judy Barry, Frank Malone, and Chester Harris. June birthdays include Gerry Leahy (3), Bill Wall (5) is now 101 years old, and Linda Dimon (14). June anniversaries include Ginny and Frank Malone (5), Abbie and Mike Palumbo (13), and Donna and Burt Cole (17).
The group was reminded of Representative Tina Pickett’s Senior Expo, taking place on July 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lynch Bustin Elementary School in Athens, Pa.
The July 10 meeting will take place at the Athens Wesleyan Church, located at 3033 Wilawana Rd. in Sayre. Anita will be making chicken and gravy, Ted will be making the biscuits, and Ginny will make the mashed potatoes. Bring your own table service, drink, side dish, or dessert.
The Fathers Day event closed at 2 p.m. with guests standing and singing God Bless America, with Jacob on his guitar as their lead singer.
The group prayed for their shut-ins, those healing, those on vacation, and those that have moved on to nursing homes.
