Giant Pumpkin Auction at Iron Kettle Farm to benefit 4-H Youth

There is a chill in the morning air and fall is coming soon. Fall means apple picking, cider donuts, and GIANT pumpkins!

Join Cornell Cooperative Extension on Sunday, Oct. 1, at 4 p.m. at Iron Kettle Farm for the annual 4-H Youth Giant Pumpkin Auction. The children bring in their giant pumpkins on Friday afternoon, Sept. 29, at 4 p.m. for the much-anticipated weigh in of the giant pumpkins.

Only one pumpkin will win the coveted white and pumpkin-colored grand champion ribbon!

All the pumpkins will be auctioned off on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 4 p.m. Guests can meet the kids that grew the pumpkins, learn some of their giant pumpkin growing tips, and bid on the pumpkin of your choice.

Proceeds go to the youth, so bring cash or check and a big car or truck to take home your prize. Last year’s winning pumpkin weighed a whopping 328 pounds.

Iron Kettle Farm is located at 707 Owego Rd. in Candor, N.Y.
