OA Central School District releases budget vote and Board of Education election results

Voters in the Owego Apalachin Central School District on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, voted to approve the district’s proposed 22-23 school budget of $52,861,174. The budget had a tax levy increase of 0.00 percent.

The final vote was 655 Yes votes, and 247 voted No.

In a second proposition, voters approved the purchase of five school buses by the following count; 674 Yes votes were rendered, and 230 voted No. 

In a third proposition, voters approved the district’s proposed Capital Project with a maximum estimated cost of $12,900,000 with 609 Yes votes and 287 No votes.

Two Board of Education Candidates elected for two seats were Gene Cvik and Linda Gretz, both incumbents.

Voters approved the additional taxpayer funding for the Apalachin Public Library with 625 Yes votes and 275 voting No; and voters approved the additional taxpayer funding for the Coburn Free Library with 652 Yes votes, and 244 voted No.
