The Charles H. Bassett Youth Foundation Board and community friends are partnering with Tioga County Rural Ministry to gather donations for Thanksgiving holiday meals for needy families. This year’s project is a Make A Difference Day Challenge to support those in the community, and will be held on Oct. 23.

Saturday, Oct. 23, is recognized nationally as Make A Difference Day, a day of helping others. In Tioga County there is a long history of this national day thanks to the late and former Legislative Chairperson, Fran Leavenworth. Fran passed in 2008 but left a legacy of community service and public leadership helping others, especially those most in need.

Items may be dropped off at the Charles H. Bassett Youth Foundation Center, located at 34 1/2 Lake St., between the hours of 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.; or they can be taken to the Board of Directors meeting at the Coburn Library at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23.
