Tioga County COVID Brief

Last week Tioga County’s Department of Health reported two additional deaths due to COVID-19, bringing the total, to date, to 74 in the county. 

In a statement on Thursday from Tioga County’s Legislative Chairwoman, Martha Sauerbrey, she wrote, “We extend our deepest sympathies to the families of the deceased. Our thoughts are with you as you move forward. We have lost too many of loved ones due to this pandemic. Let us all continue to use caution as we go about our daily lives and consider receiving a COVID vaccine; if not for yourself, for your loved ones.”

As for case numbers, the total number of confirmed cases, to date, and as of Friday was 3,534 – an increase of 107 from the prior week. There were also 114 Active Cases reported as of Friday morning. These are cases being managed by Tioga County’s Department of Health.
