Candor Free Library’s summer reading program closes with a program that explores the planets on Wednesday, Aug. 21. A representative from Cornell SPIF (Spacecraft Planetary Imaging Facility) will present a tour of planets. There will also be some hands-on activities. The program begins at 6 p.m. at the library and is free.
There’s still time to fill out your reading tickets and drop them in the appropriate tin for an end-of-summer drawing for a gift certificate to Barnes & Noble. And if you forgot to pick up a “color it yourself” book bag, there are still some available.
Summer may be coming to an end but hot days are here for a few more weeks. Visit the library where the air-conditioner is working and the wireless is always on. If you’re looking for an adventure, check out the Empire Pass for free entry to a state park.
Candor Free Library is located at 2 Bank St., just behind the Village Hall. Library hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2 to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon, 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m.
