The Tioga County Open Door Mission recently announced that there are prizes available to win for helping out local kids in need! R&C Auto is donating one free oil change and tire rotation to a lucky donor who happens to bring in a backpack donation.
The Tioga County Open Door Mission and Red Door are also hosting a gift basket raffle. To enter, donate either five dollars or a new backpack for a child to use in the coming school year. There are six themed gift baskets up for grabs including a baby basket, a beauty basket, a country basket, two autumn baskets, and a grilling basket.
All donations must be received at either the Tioga County Open Door Mission locations or R&C auto by Aug. 16. On that day, from 1 to 6 p.m., the Open Door Mission and R&C auto will be hosting a big celebratory event to pull the winners for all six baskets, the oil change and tire rotation, and even a new bike!
The event will be held at R&C auto’s location at 2100 Route 17C, right in Owego.
The Open Door Mission/ Red Door is a non-profit organization that has served the community for over 50 years, providing a men’s sober living shelter, three food pantries, an outreach center, and ten recovery meetings every month.
The backpack for kids event has been helping provide children in need with supplies and a backpack for school for over 15 years.
