In memory of our Honored War Dead, Owego and Tioga County observes Memorial Day 2019 on Monday, May 27, with a 10:30 a.m. downtown parade and 11 a.m. Service of Remembrance at the Tioga County Veterans Memorial. After 8 a.m. the Roll Call of Deceased Veterans buried in Tioga County Cemeteries will take place.
Parade transportation is needed for 75th Anniversary WWII D-Day veterans / families and Tioga County Purple Heart Recipients / families. This year, the 100th Anniversary of The American Legion will be recognized.
The Veterans and Scouts will perform “Flags In” – the placement of small American flags at veteran headstones starting in mid-May.
