Celebrate Valentine’s Day in a unique way at the zoo

Looking for a unique way to celebrate the love between you and your valentine this February? Reserve your spot for Courtship Tails at the Binghamton Zoo!

These adult-only tours highlight exotic and quirky mating rituals of animals all around the world. Did you know that North American porcupines have a “hands-off policy” except for one 12-hour period once a year? Or that female leopards are extremely flirtatious when they are in heat, and will walk back and forth in front of a male, brush up against him, and swat him with her tail? These are only a few of the interesting facts guests will learn at this love-themed event!

Tours will be held on Feb. 16 and 17 at 10:30 a.m., noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Each tour lasts approximately an hour and a half and includes a guided tour, wine tasting, dessert foods, drinks, and a commemorative photo to take home.

New this year, guests will go behind the scenes to visit Tushar, their snow leopard.

Reservations are required for Courtship Tails. Tickets are $115 for non-member couples and $100 for member couples. Guests must be 21 years or older. Limited walking will be required, and they encourage you to dress warm. Tours will start at the Binghamton Zoo Education Center near the main entrance.

Limited spots are available. Call the Binghamton Zoo at (607) 724-5461 x235 or visit http://rossparkzoo.com/courtship-tails/ to make your reservation today.
