I am writing this to inform Town of Owego residents of the great job the Town of Owego Highway department has been doing. I sent an email to the Town on Owego Highway supervisor this morning about a large pothole developing on a rural town road and he  immediately wrote back stating that his crew would get it fixed today. Great work and thank you for caring to listen and sprint into action when the situation warrants it. We need more Town officials that were as committed as you and your crew are. Thank You!

Why would anyone EVER put down their car window and toss out trash? It is such a simple thing to throw it away when you reach your destination. PLEASE DON’T LITTER!

When will sleazy New York State remove the EVAP code from the check engine emissions test for New York State inspections? Every vehicle you drive here has a problem after 100,000.

The United States Postal Service receives no tax dollars from the American public as your reader stated in last week’s Pennysaver regarding Amazon payments on shipping.

Absolutely Superintendent Cory Green is responsible for the Owego district’s finances. He controls the purse strings and he alone reports to the school board. I agree the board is naïve and ineffective. They smile and nod their heads in agreement with everything they are told without asking questions or fact checking. It’s the old adage, watch my right hand and completely ignore what the left is doing. Unfortunately Superintendent Green and his cronies are off on a wild spending spree totally unchecked by the board. The people who suffer are the students and taxpayers.

I would just like to say congratulations to the outlaw who shot the trophy buck from his gold Chevy Avalanche on Glenmary Drive the last day of the season last Sunday. I hope you feel good about what you did.

In response to a question in last week’s Pennysaver about the residency of two elected officials in the Town of Owego. I would like to state that we both do live in our required districts and have done so during our terms. If anybody has any questions they can stop in or call at any time.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me who paid for the new dam in Candor on the Catatonk Creek. Please respond to this column. I would appreciate it.

Why is it the heating oil for your house is so damn expensive seeing you can get a gallon of gas for $2.50? Something’s wrong with this picture. Somebody ought to look into this.

I hope everyone has a Happy New Year and whoever drinks and drives on New Year’s Eve – I hope they get arrested. Please don’t drink and drive. Be smart. I know I should have back in ’76, I almost killed two people on a motorcycle and I’m paying for it still. I wished I’d never done that and I’ll never do it again. If I drink I stay home. Happy New Year!

I see the Finger Lakes region is going to get $64.5 million, Tioga County is one of the poorest counties in the state and $1 million is coming down to Owego for the treatment plant. It looks like all the money is passed around to all these businesses and organizations that don’t do anything for the well being of the taxpayers of the county or the area. On top of that they don’t reduce the 8 percent sales tax down to 3 percent or something like that. Now Cuomo wants to get legislation for marijuana. I think it’s really foolish giving money to somebody that has money and throwing money off people who don’t have the money.

I attended the board meeting for the Owego Apalachin School District tonight and Superintendent Green was proposing a capital project and it was on the smart board and his numbers didn’t match up. The numbers he was giving weren’t even close to what was on a projected screen. I haven’t even seen anything in the paper about this vote that is coming up. I thought it was supposed to be advertised. Speaking of that, I don’t remember ever voting to spend dollars to build the new stadium. I thought all of this had to be approved by taxpayers. The board needs to wake up and see what’s going on down there. We taxpayers pay a lot of money and I don’t think it’s being spent wisely. Could someone please look into this?

No, you’re wrong Mr. know it all, it’s not the price that’s holding up the sale of the house in the village of Owego. Anybody with common sense will look into the taxes and fees of water and sewer and all the other things that are going on down there, would run from that village. They wouldn’t buy there. That’s the problem and people like you are the problem. You are too dumb, too naïve.

Yes it is true an Owego Town Board member and her husband, a county legislator, live in Pennsylvania.

I can remember when the reason for the season was celebrated at Christmas time. Can anyone tell me why and where it went wrong?

A very big thank you to “Tom” and Michelle” who stopped by to make a donation to the St. Pauly Textile shed at St. Margaret Mary Church as I was moving bags away from the chute, and helped me to take care of many unwanted items, as well as bag up loose clothes. They are truly angels in disguise! It would be so very much appreciated if all donors followed the guidelines posted on the shed, which the majority do.

This is in response to the person who wanted to know why Democrats do not want a border wall. I am a Democrat and my answer to that would be this; when President Trump ran for office he said he was not going to be a typical politician. He said he was going to be different. He also said he was going to make Mexico pay for every cent of the wall. Now he wants taxpayers to fund every cent of the wall or hold the government hostage. Guess what he has become, a politician.

To the person who wrote about our president and you called him a joker. Well, we are happy that things are trying to get done but your crybabies won’t support him. This is affecting many people.

You can’t lock somebody up just because you don’t like them. In my opinion, I think Hillary should be locked up with all the shenanigans she pulled. There’s no good reason to lock Trump up.

I stand corrected as I always thought CNN stood for Clinton Network News but now I’m being told it really stands for Complete Nonsense News.

When in charge, be in charge. It’s a great saying and I am so glad Trump stands up to it. I am so glad we no longer have weak or no leadership at all in the White House.

Wow, Michelle Obama never visited our troops overseas but Melania Trump did and was very well received. Everyone loves her.

Social Justice Warriors, the Obamas, imposed their dictates of Fed power into local schools districts. Michelle decided local districts weren’t smart enough to decide whether students should eat pizza or veggie burgers. Michelle’s dictates resulted in kids eating no lunch at all. Boss Obama dictated how K-12 schools would discipline students. This resulted in assaults on teachers, greater violence in classrooms, and a general deterioration of education. Stated another way, the many would be penalized for the actions of a few. Let’s thank Trump’s Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos for eliminating this insanity. How could the Lib., high IQ, and over educated Obamas be of such intellectual deficiency as to know better than the 13,500 public school districts they imposed their dictates on? The self-anointed authority of Lib groupthink belongs on the same scrapheap as the Divine Rights of Kings. Trump should not have to devote time to cleaning up the Lib messes.

Once again, we have accusations of lying on the Part of President Trump, with absolutely no proof what ever. I listed lies told by Obama and Hillary, I can add to it, from Susan Rice, and others in that failed “administration”. Like Hillary dodging sniper fire in Kosovo, which never happened, or that Benghazi was caused by a video, as told by Susan Rice multiple times on T.V. Shall we compare lists?

Well once again the media have gone low. President Trump visited the troops at Christmas and while there, some of the troops asked him to autograph items and take selfies – and he did that; but all the media saw was that President Trump signed a couple of Mega hats which the troops already had and they said Trump was campaigning and he made it a political visit. Give me a break. While they were complaining that Trump was the first President not to visit the Troops at Christmas he was already in the air heading there. But did the media apologize for their fake news? No. If Trump cured cancer, they would blame him for inventing cancer to take credit for curing it. As far as the shut down, I think Congress should not get paid while the shutdown is going on. The two children who died in the caravan cannot be blamed on ICE agents. These kids were sick before they got here and never saw a doctor in their homeland. I am not against immigrants coming here to our country, but they need to do it the legal way like my grandparents did. With thousands of immigrants invading the borders all at one time it is overwhelming for any country to deal with. I would like to wish everyone who reads this paper A Very Merry Christmas and A Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year!

Funny, when the stock market is up Mr. Trump claims credit for it. When it goes down it’s the Fed’s fault.

So to all you Obama lovers and Trumpsters – how are your 401k’s doing? Last week the Dow lost 1,655 points, or 6.8 percent. It was the Dow’s worst week of trading since October 2008 during the financial crisis. The S&P 500 also lost 7 percent for the week and is now down 17.8 percent from its record reached earlier in the year. The Nasdaq Composite is now 22 percent below its record reached in August and is in a bear market. Both the Dow and the S&P 500 are now in the red for 2018 by at least 9 percent. This the worst total drop in the market in 80 years; so are you getting tired of winning? Just wondering.

Oh, be still my heart! Colleges are beginning to offer courses in adulting! Finally, the younger generation is going to learn to be a contributing member of society! Hopefully they’ll actually learn that they have to pay bills and be responsible, that choices aren’t all about being politically correct, that there is black and white, not all gray. Warning, this could spell the end of the Liberal Democrat nonsense, when and if they actually learn to be responsible!

Contrary, to Mafioso Cuomo, “America was never great”; America remains a nation gifted by God, of great virtue, with warts, and having made mistakes. Always Make America Great this New Year with respect and civility for all. Dear Lib intellectual, have you read the joys of socialism (free stuff) in The Gulag Archipelago by A. Solzhenitsyn or Tombstone by Frank Ditkitor? Do your homework then please call the conservative village idiots.

Our illustrious “governor” is now pushing the legalization of marijuana in New York State. Google it. Check out how this has worked out in Colorado. Crime, highway accidents, personal assaults have all increased exponentially as a result. This is what we need more of? Would they do it again, not likely!

Gee, I wonder why the mainstream media doesn’t report the results of the compassion of European and Scandinavian countries that opened their borders to millions of “immigrants”? Google it. Result, violent crime, property crime, personal assaults, rape, all increased exponentially as a result. Would they do it again, not in a heartbeat!

If President Reagan were alive he would say “Mr. trump, don’t build that wall.” If you are adamant to build it then you should destroy the Statue of Liberty as a hazard to ships coming in New York harbor.

You have a visitor at the door, it’s a representative from the JOP and he is telling you that we know you broke the law, we have proof, why not confess and give us all the details and we will go easy on you? This is what our government is doing to Russia in regards to the INF treaty, do they think that Russia is going to confess to something that didn’t happen when the accusers have produced not one shred of evidence, just allegations? The U.S. keeps looking for excuses to punish Russia with economic sanctions designed to increase the U.S. market shares, this is low by any standards. All of Washington needs to wake up and learn how to negotiate not demand, threaten and sanction when we don’t get our way. Crybaby Trump hasn’t a clue how to negotiate, watch his body language, arms crossed over his chest means I’m not listening.

The 235 elected, selected and hired may wish to choose a school district that will order the tests, related to grades three and eight for 2019. This would provide an opportunity to “Be a kid again.” Join the 3T movement, Take The Tests!

Webster’s New World Dictionary, College Edition defines extortion; “…. getting money by violence, threats, misuse of authority,” and so forth. Technically it may not be a criminal offense, but in my book it’s not different than holding a hostage for ransom. It is a moral crime at least. Impeach Donald Trump and try to save what little is left of our democracy.

This is the deal, how do we figure this out. I never said I was smart. If these people, charities, that bring in a jar into your company put it on the head desk and say “donations please,” you get a kickback of 10 cents on the dollar or whatever. Yes you do get a kickback. My daughter threw a lady and her jar out the door of her job and said no, that money is supposed to go to people in need. Well, does Trump get a kickback on these big monies that he wants to spend? Is that how he makes his money? Yes. But now are we, the people, going to give him kickback on $5 billion or are we going to throw his ass out on the road. Stop and think about it. Look at him, just look at him. The epitome of a jackass. Think about it.

Do you other taxpayers have any idea what $5 billion looks like? Does it look like a wall? It doesn’t look like a wall to me. $5 billion would pay for things that we can only imagine; yet we have a fool in the White House and Trumpsters who follow him like sick puppies begging him for $5 billion.

This might not last too much longer, they’re looking for a place on Rikers Island for the Donald. The southern district of New York will have him follow the fortunes of his fraudulent foundation. You people who voted for Donald Trump who continue to support this moron, you amaze me! You kind of remind me of the type of parent that would refuse to admit that their little Johnny and their little Susie broke the window next door. Grow up! Trump is getting his butt kicked. Walls are closing in on this fool and I am giddy as hell.

So Trump’s taking ownership of the government’s shutdown. He’s taking full responsibility. Do you people realize the army, air force; navy marines and coast guard do not get paid when there is a government shut down? I thought Trump was all for the veterans and military, right. Vote Democrat, vote Democrat or don’t vote at all.

The partial government shut down means all non-essential government workers are sent home. So is it really necessary to bring them back on the job after the shut down is over? I love government shutdowns; as it’s the only time the government seems to run efficiently, and because the shut down is over our southern border, let’s not forget our northern border when building walls. One really needs to be built between Canada and the United States as you get a lot of immigration coming in from the north as well.

It is obvious to all that the never Trumpsters all suffer from Trump derangement syndrome. They are envious of the hardest working and smartest president in generations. They are jealous of the First Lady’s efforts to elevate respect for the U.S.A. The Socialist Marxist Democrat traitors to all of our cherished values are evident to even the most radical and dumbest of them. We should all work very hard to send them packing in the 2020 elections. God bless and protect President Trump from the enemies of the U.S.A. and Happy New Year and Go Trump!
