This year brought many exciting changes to Owego’s First Friday, one of those being the transition from a seasonal to a year round event. While outside events will continue to only take place May thru October, there is still plenty of activity happening inside participating locations each and every First Friday.

Owego’s next First Friday will take place on Friday, Nov. 2 in the Historic Village of Owego. Events pick up beginning at 5 p.m.

Participating locations include What’s In Store” Cakes and More, Anything Artistic, the Tioga Arts Council, Gallery Forty-One, Confection Connection, Creative Joy, Original’s Bar and Lounge, The Owego Kitchen, Carol’s Coffee and Art Bar, and the Black Cat Gallery. Many additional locations will be open late for shopping and more.

The First Friday Featured Sponsor this month is Black Cat Gallery. The Black Cat has been in business since 2010 and supports the fine arts and crafts of more than 40 local and regional Artists. Featuring one of a kind artwork and handmade crafts, Black Cat features an always changing and unique inventory.

Stop by Black Cat on Nov. 2 for Live Music from “Story” featuring Robert Heinrich, along with featured glass artist working with functional and recycled glass, Glenna Pitarresi.

Owego’s First Friday will take a break in December as the annual Lights on the River event will take center stage on Dec. 7, and will pick up again on Friday, Jan. 4.

The Historic Owego Marketplace encourages you to find them on Facebook, and check Owego.org frequently for updated information on this and many other events.
