From the Desk of Owego Police Chief Joseph Kennedy

For the past several weeks we have talked about “if you see something, say something.”  We would like to take this sentiment a step further by asking you, as a community, if setting up a neighborhood watch program would be something you would like to take part in.

From experience, we know that programs such as neighborhood watch help prevent crime, create a sense of awareness, and facilitates a partnership between the police and members of the community.

If interested in taking part please contact the Owego Police Department via email at owegopoliceny@gmail.com.

Also, during the period from Sept. 24, 2018 to Oct. 7, 2018 we had 154 total complaints, one Felony arrest, 15 misdemeanor arrests, four drug related and two mental health, 33 traffic tickets, 13 warning tickets, 23 parking tickets, and responded to three motor vehicle accidents.
