The Tioga County 4-H Giant Pumpkin Auction took place on Sunday, Sept. 30 at Iron Kettle Farm in Candor, N.Y. Fifteen 4-H youth participated with 24 pumpkins that were sold via live auction.
The 2018 Grand Champion Giant Pumpkin was grown by Jason Jantz, and weighed 395 pounds.
The 4-H Giant Pumpkin Club members that participated in the 4-H Giant Pumpkin Auction were Jason Jantz, Kyle Jantz, Johanna Pilny, Luke Huizinga, Ryan Huizinga, Brody Hines, Rosie Hines, Colton Whittemore, Owen Huizinga, Audi Zorn, Madison Peabody, Wyatt Zorn, Will Whittemore, Alison Pilny and Grayson Zorn.
Thanks are extended to Iron Kettle Farm for hosting the event and to Roy Hottle, of Wyalusing, Pa., for serving as the auctioneer.
