Call for Vendors – Owego Rotary’s 10th annual Artisan and Crafts Fair

Artisans and crafts persons, as well as local vendors of farm goods and homemade food, are invited to participate in Owego Rotary Club’s 10th annual Artisan and Crafts Fair planned for Sunday, Nov. 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Owego Elks Lodge located, at 223 Front St. in Owego.

Applications received prior to Sept. 1 will ensure your name is included in pre-event publicity. Contact Meredith Kohn Bocek at (607) 658-6589 or email to mbocek@stny.rr.com for an application. You can also stop by the following shops in Owego: The Black Cat Gallery, Gallery Forty-One, River Row Bookshop, or the Tioga County Council on the Arts.

The Fair Committee will use appropriate media to advertise the event including ads, posters, newspaper articles, lawn signs, and social media.

This event is free and open to the public, just in time for the Holiday Season, and there will be many local food vendors, artisans, and craft persons as vendors to offer their work for sale.

As in years past, all proceeds from this event will be donated to the Rotary Polio Plus Campaign. Every child deserves the right to walk, run, and play without fear of paralysis. Although Polio is largely unknown in the industrialized nations, it is a disease that still robs children of that right in other parts of the world.

The Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) is committed to achieving a polio-free world. Rotary is a spearheading partner in the GPEI along with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has invested in the eradication of polio and is working closely with the GPEI. The goal of the initiative is the global certification of polio eradication.

Indeed, the end of polio is in sight!
