Barnyard Olympics at the Tioga County Fair!

The Tioga County Fair

The second annual Barnyard Olympics will bring together teams on Aug. 11, at 1 p.m. during this year’s Tioga County Fair. Teams to participate in a farm-oriented competition will sign-up at the fair.

For the event, teams of four will be challenged to move hay while blindfolded, toss the horseshoe, a 3-legged race, and know the mystery items. All of these activities will take place on the same day, Aug. 11. All ages are welcome.

The competition is limited to ten teams of four people; and the registration is at the 4-H booth during fair week.

Goodrich explained that the Barnyard Olympics is a way to incorporate a bit of nostalgia into the fair, and should appeal to competitors and spectators alike because of its “survivor-like-challenge” aspects. Spectators are welcome to cheer on their favorite team.

For questions, contact Cinda Goodrich at (607) 687-1719 or email her at cgoodrich4@verizon.net. Information is also available at www.tiogacofair.com.

This year’s fair kicks off on Monday, Aug. 6, with rides opening on Tuesday and the fair continuing through Aug. 11. Visit tiogacofair.com to learn more.
