Concerts in the Park return on June 27

Concerts in the Park, featuring local and regional musicians, returns to Hickories Park starting Wednesday, June 27. The summer concerts are made possible, in part, with funding from the Town of Owego, and are hosted by the Tioga Arts Council. The events, held at the Hickories Park band shell are free admission, but donations are appreciated.

Featuring talented area musicians performing at the permanent band shell, the amphitheater-type setting offers ample stage space and quality sound. The Concerts in the Park series is a wonderful way to spend time with family and friends while taking in an appreciation of local music, arts and culture in an outdoor setting.

Scheduled every Wednesday through Aug. 1, the concert line-up includes MR-2 on June 27, the Kirby Band on July 4, the Tarps on July 11, Basin Street Jazz Band on July 18, Next to Kin on July 25, and concludes with Triple Play featuring Alice Detrick on Aug. 1. All performances, with the exception of July 4, will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. The July 4 event is slated to start one-half hour later at 7:30 p.m. and includes an evening fireworks show.
