Update: One name released from two-car collision on Route 96 on Tuesday

On May 8, 2018, at 7:42 p.m. the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a two- car motor vehicle collision at the intersection of State Route 96 and Catatonk Hill Road in the Town of Candor.

A passenger in one of the vehicles, 89 year old Richard C. Nabor of Candor, N.Y., died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.

The driver of the vehicle that Nabor was in and both occupants of the other vehicle involved were transported to local hospitals for injuries sustained in the collision.

State Route 96 was closed for several hours while the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit processed the scene.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Candor Fire, Candor E.M.S., Campville E.M.S., Campville Fire, Guthrie Air-Med, Owego E.M.S., Owego Fire Police, Weltonville Fire, Tioga County Office of Emergency Services and New York State D.O.T.

No other details are available for public release due to an on-going investigation.
