Free engineering and art fun at the Candor Free Library

The Candor Free Library is more than books. March ends and April begins with three events that invite children and their families to explore engineering and art.

On Saturday, March 31, join them for a free workshop to Make Things That Fly. Participants will design and test-fly helicopters, zoomers and airplanes, and discover the secrets of paper aerodynamics.

The workshop will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. and is aimed for ages ranging from seven to 107.

The following weekend provides two opportunities to explore your artistic side. On Saturday, April 7, join the library to doodle with Zentangles in the Round. No experience is necessary to draw these fun mandalas that are Zentangles in a circle. The free workshop begins at 2 p.m. and is open to all ages.

If you’re tired of snow and dreaming of spring, then join them on Sunday, April 8 for another Paint with Sandy class. The class goes from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and is suited for ages nine and older. Class size is limited to 14 students.

You can register for the workshops by calling the library at 659-7258. Workshops are free, and are sponsored by the BOOKS Program and Senator Akshar.

You can find out about more things happening at the library by visiting candorlibrary.blogspot.com, or by visiting the Candor Free Library Facebook page.
