On Saturday, March 24, Girl Scout Troop 40925 will be selling cookies directly to the local community. Their booth will be set up in the parking lot at the corner of Main Street and Central Avenue in Owego, and open for sales from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This annual event raises funds for troop activities, trips and service projects throughout the year.

All of the traditional flavors, such as Thin Mints, Samoas, and Do Si Dos will be available as well as the most recent addition to the cookie line-up, S’mores.

The cookie sales program is the largest girl-led business in the world and teaches girls essential skills to succeed personally and professionally. When customers stop by to purchase a package of Girl Scout cookies, they help teach girls five essential life skills – decision-making, goal setting, money management, and business ethic and people skills.

Cadette Troop 40925’s members attend the Owego Apalachin Middle School and would like to thank the community for supporting their fundraisers over the last three years.

After the end of school last year, the troop was able to take a bonus trip to the beach, which was a first time experience for some members.

The girls of Troop 40925 are currently completing their Silver Award projects.
