Over 200 people were treated to exceptional entertainment recently with outstanding performances from FLAME the Band, and The Edmeister Comedy Show. Held in the new Tioga Downs Conference Center and organized by Lions Camp Badger, the purpose of the event was for people to recognize and appreciate the abilities and talents in everyone.
While each of the performers had intellectual or physical challenges, the focus was on their strengths and accomplishments. Formed in 2003, FLAME has performed internationally and has released five CD’s.

The Edmeister is just beginning his career and has performed in several areas around the state.
Tioga United Way, Tioga State Bank, Gary Vergason, Jeff Luciano, Tioga Downs, Lions Club members and anonymous donors, sponsored the event. Because of this sponsorship, many were able to attend the event at no charge.
In a press release, the organizers of the event extended a special thanks to Tioga Downs’ owner Jeff Gural for his generous support of the Lions Camp Badger program.
Lions Camp Badger also thanked and commended the staff at Tioga Downs for their efforts in creating a fully accessible, inclusive environment that allowed everyone to participate.
This event was so successful, according to organizers that plans are underway to do it again in 2019.
