Snowmobile Safety Course taking place on November 11

A New York State Snowmobile Safety Course, hosted by the Tioga Ridge Runners and sponsored by Allstate Insurance Lounsbury Agency, will take place on Nov. 11, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Flemingville Grange located on West Creek Road in Owego. The course is free, and lunch will be provided.

You do not need to be a club member to attend, and the course is open to any snowmobiler and their children age ten and up. Snowmobilers age ten through 18 will need to provide a copy of their birth certificate, which is required for proof of age. New snowmobilers of all ages are also welcome.

New York State law requires anyone age ten to 18 to successfully complete this safety course before operating a snowmobile on the state’s trail system, and they are required to present a copy of the certification to any law enforcement officer upon request while operating a snowmobile.

This class is limited to the first 50 students. To register, email to elmaeh@hotmal.com or call Ellie Theurer at (607) 239-1175.
