Make A Difference by helping homeless animals

Make A Difference at Evergreen Cemetery

On Make A Difference Day, Oct. 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tioga County Health and Human Services will be Making A Difference and helping the homeless animals at Stray Haven Humane Society located at 194 Shepard Rd. in Waverly.

The event will have many activities to include basket raffles for a cost of $1 per ticket or per donation. You can increase your winnings by donating moist / dry grain free dog food; moist pate style cat food; dry Purina kitten food; or dry Purina Complete cat food. For each can / pound donated, you will receive a free ticket for the basket raffle. 

There is also a pet costume contest underway with a $5 entry fee. Photographs can be dropped off at the Health and Human Services Building or emailed to deniseangeleyes@hotmail.com. Photographs and fees must be received by Oct. 28. For more information, contact Denise Liske by calling (607) 339-6566.

Winners will be selected via People’s Choice during the event and by category. Categories include scary, funny, cute and creative. Winners will receive awards, as well as bragging rights.

Refreshments will be available.
