Make A Difference at Evergreen Cemetery

Make A Difference at Evergreen Cemetery

Make A Difference at Evergreen CemeterySaturday, Oct. 28 is national Make A Difference Day. Tioga County has a long tradition of organizing citizen volunteer projects on this day starting with former Tioga County Legislator Fran Leavenworth in the early 1990’s. The Charles H. Bassett Youth Foundation, Inc. is again sponsoring a Make A Difference Day project at the Evergreen Cemetery from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 28.

Volunteers of all ages will help clean-up, rake leaves, and plant flowers at Owego’s Historic Evergreen Cemetery.

The Village of Owego owns and maintains this wonderful Evergreen Cemetery and volunteers will help the Village make improvements and maintain the beauty of the cemetery.

With dwindling local and state resources, it is imperative that citizens volunteer their service to care for public spaces such as the Evergreen Cemetery. For more information, contact Bob Bassett by email to chbyouthfoundation37@gmail.com.
