Open House – Heating and Cooling your Home or Business

Looking to use less energy to heat and cool your home or business? Reduce or get off fossil fuel? Save money? Learn something new?

On Saturday, Oct. 21 between 10 a.m. and noon, stop by Andy and Son barbershop at 26 Lake St. (near the Post Office). There you will see and learn about their Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP), which Andy and his son, Matt, use to both heat and cool their shop.

Also, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the public is invited to visit Liz and Joe Rowland’s home to learn about their Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP), a geothermal system they recently installed to meet their heating and cooling needs. Also see their ground-mounted solar system, wind turbine and more. From Southside Drive (State Route 434), travel 2.5 miles up Montrose Turnpike to the Rowland home on the left with 2495 on the yellow mailbox.

The open house is sponsored by RAFT (Residents Allied for the Future of Tioga). For more information, call (607) 342-3159.
