Presentation of the Masonic General Douglas A. MacArthur Youth AwardStephen Lindridge, pictured, will be the recipient of the Masonic General Douglas A. MacArthur Youth Award at a presentation planned for Oct. 20.

The Grand Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York and Candor Masonic Lodge #411 will present Stephen Lindridge with the General Douglas A. McArthur Youth Award on Oct. 20. This prestigious award is presented to a non-Mason, men, women, or organization that demonstrates “exemplary and voluntary” community service to our youth.

Lindridge has been a Technical Education teacher at Candor High School for the past 25 years, and is credited with going above and beyond in “instilling core values in today’s young people”.

One of Lindridge’s mottos is stenciled on his classroom wall: “Have successful failures.” He believes that for “students to succeed, they need to have permission to make mistakes and fail, and the technology shop is a perfect place for that.”

Anyone wishing to attend this event honoring Mr. Lindridge is welcome to attend an Open House presentation on Friday, Oct. 20, at the Candor Masonic Lodge #411 located at 19 Owego Rd. in Candor.

The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., and the award will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be available.
