On Sept. 14, guests gathered at the Pumpelly House Estate in Owego for a grand reopening that celebrated a 3,200 square foot addition to the historic 1905 Carriage House Events Center. According to the owner, Christine Baust, weddings are getting larger, so the expansion was a good solution.
The expansion of the Carriage House took approximately four
months, according to Baust, with work performed from Nov. 1 of last year until April 1 of this year.
And with guests arriving from New York City and North Carolina, to as far as Florida to utilize the Carriage House for weddings and other events, the 3,200 square foot addition boosted her capacity from 120 guests to 300, allowing it to accommodate larger weddings, conferences and retreats.
The historic home, which sits in front of the Carriage House and at 44 Front St. in Owego, has four bed and breakfast rooms as well.
